Production: Canon 5D with 24-70 f2.8L at 70mm. Feathered light from a 28" softbox. 1/200s at f3.5, ISO 320, Manual Mode. Fast shutter speed knocked out all ambient light from street. Strobe set to 1/4 power off camera to left and behind, triggered with a Pocket Wizard. Warm glow on hood is a bounce from a brick wall, although you may not see that with Flickr's brutal compression algorithm.
Post: Imported from Raw with ACR. Levels, curves adjusted and skin cleaned up in CS3. Highlights on cap and hood burned back. Noise reduction with Noise Ninja. Black background extended left in CS3 to provide space (and to...er...cover the softbox that got into the frame). Small flare, stray threads and hairs cloned out. Small amount of sharpening in CS3. Saved to TIFF and JPEG.
